The “Women in Construction – Levelling the Playing Field” programme was developed as part of the work of the Women’s Round Table and subsequently adopted by the 2nd Polish Construction Congress on 17 September 2024. PORR representatives were also involved in the work on the initiative.
The programme covers four key areas: equal pay for women and men with equivalent competencies, equal opportunities for career development, prevention of workplace harassment against women and the promotion of mentoring based on the principle of women supporting women.
The implementation of the programme will be coordinated by the Woman and Man Committee. The body will be responsible for activities in two areas: mentoring at technical university faculties of civil engineering and addressing the issues of pay, development and harassment in construction companies.
The signatories of the letter have committed to appointing one representative each who will be tasked with jointly developing an action plan for the given calendar year. Once reviewed by the signatories, it will be adopted as a binding annual cooperation plan. It will be jointly evaluated after the end of the annual activity cycle. The appointees will also be tasked with coordinating and reporting on the activities.
