The Medical Simulation Center will consist of two, approximately 20-meter-high buildings with a total area of more than 21,000 square meters. The Center was designed as two interpenetrating cuboid blocks forming the letter T in plan. The entrance to the A wing will be from Pawińskiego Street, the entrance to the B wing from the side of the buildings of the Department of Pathomorphology at the WUM. Both wings will have two underground floors and five floors above ground.

PORR's scope of construction work includes turnkey construction of the underground portions of the A and B wings and the above-ground portion of the A wing. The B-wing in the above-ground section will be constructed in a cold shell condition. The project will also include earthworks, reinforced concrete construction, sanitary installations, electrical and teletechnical installations, elevations as well as full interior finishing and the required minor equipment. The development of the site will include the construction of sanitary networks and connections, electricity, telecommunications, lighting, as well as roads, greenery and minor architectural forms.

Key teaching investment

The Medical Simulation Center will enable medical, dental and nursing students to receive hands-on training in operating rooms, ICUs and EDs that mirror real hospital or outpatient conditions. It will include in-situ simulation rooms, primarily the operating room, delivery room, intensive care rooms, rooms for learning dental skills from medical communication with a simulated patient, and designed for the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).

"We absolutely need such a place as the Medical Simulation Center for proper teaching of medical faculties," stressed His Excellency Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong, Rector of WUM.

"PORR S.A. is one of the largest beneficiaries when it comes to public procurement. More doors are opening up to us. I am very glad about that. We have a qualified team that is prepared to carry out this task starting tomorrow," said PORR S.A. CEO Piotr Kledzik.
