The joint venture composed of PORR S.A. (leader) and PORR Bau GmbH (partner) is implementing the investment project in the Design & Build system. This will result in the construction of a ca. 16.1 m long S3 dual carriageway express road starting from interchange Bolków (without the interchange) until interchange Kamienna Góra Północ (without the interchange). Each roadway will be equipped with two lanes and an emergency stopping lane (shoulder). Moreover, two twin tube road tunnels will be built – the ca. 2,300 m long TS26 tunnel between the villages Sady Górne, Stare and Nowe Bogaczowice as well as the ca. 320 m long TS32 tunnel near the village Gostków.
When it is finished, tunnel TS26 will be Poland’s longest non-urban tunnel carved in rock by means of the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM). Furthermore, on that stretch of road, 15 engineering structures, 13 wildlife crossings and 39 culverts will be erected. In addition, new access roads will be established and the existing road system will be redeveloped.
The construction site was handed over on 26th August 2020 which allowed to begin works to prepare task implementation. First of all, an unexploded ordnance survey will be condcted as well as archeological and environmental works. In the meantime demolition and earthworks will commence and the construction of service roads to ensure access primarily to the tunnel portals.
