- We are closing an important stage of a key investment - said Rector Zbigniew Gaciong during the topping out ceremony at the CSM construction site. Construction works are finished. Now the building shell will be closed, and then we will equip the building.
Not only WUM will benefit
- The modern Medical Simulation Center is ready to serve our students, but also the academic community of Warsaw. It will also be open to doctors and representatives of other medical professions who want to improve their skills - promised Rector Zbigniew Gaciong.
The Medical Simulation Center has two wings - building A and B - both 20 m high with five above-ground and two underground floors.
In the underground floors, a garage, a bicycle room, a washroom and cloakrooms for students and employees, as well as didactic equipment warehouses are planned.
On the ground floor, in addition to the hall and reception, there will be important didactic rooms: ED simulation room, pre-hospital simulation room, 2 BLS simulation rooms and 2 ALS simulation rooms - i.e. basic and advanced resuscitation procedures.
On the floors: operating room simulation room with airlock, 2 delivery room simulation rooms, 2 intensive care ward simulation rooms - all of them recreate hospital realities, next to them there are debriefing rooms, where the results of classes will be discussed. In addition, clinical and technical skills rooms - e.g. ultrasound, laboratories for practicing obstetric nursing skills, 2 ALS simulation rooms and 3 BLS simulation rooms, rooms for teaching dental skills. In addition, an open-space zone for students, seminar rooms of various sizes for 25 to 50 people, exercise rooms, a conference room.
- CSM will also have 10 OSCE examination rooms, i.e. Objective Structured Clinical Examination. This is an examination procedure adopted in medical universities around the world that allows for an objective assessment of various clinical competences of the examinees - emphasized the rector.
Topping out ceremony
- It is said that after the topping out, only the easier part of the work remains. We hope that will be the case here as well - explained Piotr Kledzik, CEO of PORR.
Piotr Kledzik together with prof. Gaciong, they took the elevator to the roof of the CSM building and placed a topping out, which, according to tradition, is to ensure the building and its inhabitants all prosperity. Completion of construction is planned for mid-November, and relocation and opening at the end of the first quarter of 2024.
