The company started operations in Poland in the early 1990s. After over almost 30 years in Poland, PORR has realised numerous significant projects throughout the country, including the InterContinental Hotel in Warsaw, the Warsaw Financial Centre office building, the University of Warsaw’s library building, the Sheraton Hotel, the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the Stary Browar shopping centre in Poznań, the Auditorium Maximum at Jagiellonian University, Grzybowska Park in Warsaw, the headquarters of the Agora publishing firm, the Sea Towers building and Gdynia Waterfront.
PORR has also successfully implemented many spectacular infrastructure projects, such as the rapid repairs to Warsaw’s Łazienkowski Bridge, the renovation of the imposing Tadeusz-Mazowiecki Bridge in Rzeszów, section G2 of the Drogowa Trasa Średnicowa motorway in Gliwice, and a section of the S2 bypass south of Warsaw. The company has also completed a range of hydraulic engineering projects; for example, modernising the reservoir in Nysa in the course of flood protection measures around the Nysa Kłodzka River.
In addition, the company can look back on various challenging rail construction and engineering projects.
Since PORR started operations in Poland, we have implemented many important changes in order to meet the challenges of the future. The company has been streamlined, its structures reorganised, and its work processes have been optimised. The company has operated on the Polish market as PORR S.A. since April 2017.
The company in its current form is the result of a merger of two independent companies: PORR Polska Construction S.A., which concentrates on building construction and railway construction projects, and PORR Polska Infrastructure S.A., which is specialised in the fields of infrastructure, energy construction, hydraulic engineering and civil engineering. Connecting the companies in this way enables PORR to offer a comprehensive range of services in Poland.
