The Lubelska junction is a project that PORR S.A. was carrying out in 2020. At the time, the contract involved connecting the eastern and southern ring roads of Warsaw and the A2 motorway that was under construction. However, the junction proved to be too tight - earlier traffic volume estimates were not confirmed, in practice leading to regular traffic jams, also despite the introduction of temporary traffic controls and diversions. This is finally about to change. The investor, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, entrusted us with the task of designing and implementing a new permanent traffic scheme.
As part of the project, a detailed traffic analysis will be carried out first. A flyover will then be built to restore traffic on the currently closed A2 Terespol-S17 Lublin link. The following changes will include the reconstruction of traffic separation islands on the main line and the exit to the slip roads from Warsaw (S2) and Lublin (S17). This will create a reserve for a possible third exit lane. PORR will also be tasked with modernising the existing road infrastructure, including storm sewers, lighting or road safety elements that collide with the new concept.
The completion time is 4 months from the date of signing the contract to produce the documentation and obtain the necessary permits and then 2 months (from obtaining the works permit) to implement the works on site.
