The floodgate for the port of Kujawy will be located on the left embankment of the Vistula River. It will have mitre gates, activated during floods as a closing element, in order to preserve the continuity of the left embankment of the city of Kraków. The investment fills a gap in the flood protection system of the Vistula River valley in Kraków.
The contract will be implemented under the Build formula. As part of the construction work, PORR will perform, among other things, the construction and rehabilitation of reinforced concrete and hydrotechnical structures of damming structures, dredging works, installation of mechanical equipment and instrumentation and control systems, construction of cubic facilities as well as the power grid. The contractor is also responsible for the reconstruction of the sewer, power and lighting networks, the construction of anti-flood embankments and the anti-filtration screen,
The full scope of work specified in the contract will be carried out within 410 days of the handover of the construction site, which is scheduled for the end of February this year.
