The contracted works are part of the Flood Control Project in the Oder and Vistula River Basins which is being implemented by Wody Polskie. Among other things, they included the construction of the Roztoki Bystrzyckie dry flood reservoir which was completed by PORR in 2021. The new task will involve modernising the flood control infrastructure along the most endangered sections of rivers Kamienny Potok and Bystrzyca Dusznicka.
The Kamienny Potok project will modernise protections on both banks of the river over a total length of 1,870 m. It will include repair and restoration works, ichthyological unblocking by converting 3 surges to rapids, reconstruction and replenishment of regulatory walls, restoration of bank protection and construction of an emergency bottom water intake.
Modernisation on the Bystrzyca Dusznicka will include protections on both banks of the river along a total length of 2,813 m. Regulatory walls and embankment reinforcements will be rebuilt and enlarged, the riverbed unblocked, and water outlets rebuilt. In addition, a new 200m-long flood barrier and debris protection will be constructed. They will protect infrastructure and tourist facilities in the immediate vicinity from flooding.
