The investment includes the construction of the 3 km long bypass of the Gąski town, load capacity 11.5 t per axle and total width 8 m. The bypass will be a GP class road (main accelerated traffic) with a single-carriageway cross-section (1x2). As part of the task, two viaducts and a passage for medium-sized animals will be built. Additional roadways will be built to serve the area adjacent to the ring road. Public roads colliding with the investment will be reconstructed. Sidewalks and elements of pedestrian and bicycle paths at roundabouts will be built, along with the intersections. Road lighting, vertical and horizontal traffic signs as well as road safety devices will be installed.
Design and construction works, together with obtaining the occupancy permit, should be completed within no more than 39 months from the date of signing the contract. This time does not include winter periods during construction works (i.e. from December 15 to March 15).
Purpose of the investment
The construction of the Gąski bypass will allow the transit traffic outside the town, which will significantly improve traffic efficiency both in Gąski and along the national road DK65. Thanks to the bypass, the safety of the inhabitants will be improved, the traffic congestion will be relieved and the road capacity of Gąski will be increased. The investment will also improve the conditions and safety of long-distance and regional traffic. DK65 is a popular way to Warmia and Mazury, it also leads to the state border. At the same time, the highest requirements for environmental protection, health and life of residents and sustainable development will be maintained.
